Privacy Policy

The short version
We collect what a marketplace needs to work: your name, email, general location, listings, messages, and order details. Payments go through Stripe, so we never see your card number. We don't sell your data to anyone, ever. You can ask us what we have or ask us to delete it.
1. What we collect
- Account: name, email, password (stored as a hash by our auth provider, never readable by us).
- Location:ZIP code and general area if you provide them, used for “near me” search and distance display. We show other users your area (like “Fayetteville, AR”), never a street address you haven't chosen to share.
- Listings and content: photos, descriptions, prices, your shop note.
- Messages: conversations, offers, and system messages between you and other users. Treat messages as private but not encrypted; our team can access them for support and safety investigations.
- Orders: what was bought and sold, amounts, fulfillment method, and (for shipped orders) the shipping address you enter.
- Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive transaction metadata (amounts, status, payout state) but never your card number.
- Technical basics: the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and standard server logs.
2. How we use it
To run the marketplace: showing listings, enabling messages and offers, processing orders and payouts, sending the service emails the marketplace requires (order updates and message notifications), preventing fraud and abuse, and improving the product. If we ever add optional updates like tips or a digest, they'll be clearly separate from service email and every one will carry an unsubscribe link.
3. Who we share it with
Service providers who run the machinery, bound by their own agreements: Stripe (payments and payouts), Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery). We share with other users only what the marketplace shows anyway: your name, general area, listings, and the messages you send them. We disclose data if the law requires it. We do not sell or rent personal data. Period.
4. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Order and payment records are retained as long as legally and financially necessary even after account deletion. To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account, email support@reteachshop.com; we'll confirm and complete requests within 30 days.
5. Children
reteach is for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect data from children. Classroom materials are for kids; the accounts are not.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), database access is restricted by row-level security, and payment data never touches our servers. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your data we'll notify you as the law requires.
7. Changes
We'll post changes here and note the new effective date; material changes get an email.
